Mo'vember

Well the month is nearing an end. It has been an interesting month, an itchy month, and a very creepy month... But all for good cause. So every minute of it was well worth it! Will I do it again? of course! I want to send out a big thank you to all of those wonderful people who donated! Creep for a cause was a great success. If any of you were wondering as well, my total raised this month hit 645 dollars. I am happy with that but next year I will hit 1000!!

One more day to Enjoi this Stache.

The White Stuff Cometh...

Finally it has arrived! Snow!!!!

Now some of you may be cursing me right now for that statement... But come on meow, we are Canadian. A solid 7 or 8 months of our year in spent with the lovely white stuff under our boots. We know it comes every year so why instead of complaining every fall be happy and embrace it... If you really hate it move. Nothing worse then hearing people complain year after year how cold it is, or all this snow and shoveling... Really people? How long have you lived here?

Ok enough venting because I am in a fantastic mood today. Just finished up some extreme ping pong. How can something like ping pong be extreme you ask? I will educate you in such an awesome creation.
Quite simple really, its ping pong mixed with racket ball, mixed with volleyball so to say. Serving remains the same, but that is where it all changes. instead of simply returning the serve you must volley the ball up to your partner for them to smash it back across. Which when such a smash occurs the ball ricochet's off of walls, window's couches, peoples faces... yes that has happened, it is good to wear glasses for safety reasons in extreme pong. And then you must return said ball. But to mix it up and throw your opponent for a loop you can simply do the traditional return instead of volley which is usually good for a point or two as your opponents freeze forgetting how to play classic ping pong and watch the ball float between them. It is an exciting game, somewhat dangerous, paddles flying, balls breaking you name it. But I highly recommend it to any one who enjoys a good game of Ping pong. You can thank me later.

This is one of many reasons why I love my job. And quite frankly my life.

Just Enjoi.

Well Now

Apparently I have been informed that I am due for an update... Seeing as the last one was oh back in July...

So where to begin?? Hmm suppose I have to think of what has happened in the past few months.. New Job, year old, another car, still single oddly enough... haha But I do have to say that I am loving life. Surrounded by amazing people,
love my job, Busy as can be which is awesome.

But the coolest update of all is the car... a 52 year old car to be exact. And yes it is a VW.

I present to you my 1958 Light Metallic Bronze
Beetle Deluxe!

So now I am a proud owner of a classic, and am in the process of getting this beauty on the road. Started with cleaning it up, amazing what you will find in a car that old! And now that it is all cleaned up, I started work on the whole running part... As a few friends have said "Well you may have to push it to a show, but it sure does look good" But I am confident with the friends I have and people helping me along the way come spring this beauty will be running like a dream, a 36hp monster of a dream haha... Yes that is right I said 36hp.

Stay tuned for more pictures to Enjoi.

Whoa Whats That?!

Mission Hill Vineyard, BC

That thing, there in the sky - man its bright.
Oh never mind its just the sun.
Been so long I forgot what it looked like.

I mean I am all for the rain I know its needed, but man alive - I don't think we have had 3 days straight without rain. Oh right I was going to tell an actual story and not complain - not that I was complaining just stating facts really, I mean I do love thunderstorms they are wicked and in fact I have two sweet lightning pictures my brother in law took sitting above my head at this very moment!

Enough side tracking, today, sun, warm, fantastic even one could say! The weather in itself was just an added bonus that made the day that much more enjoyable. The real treat I would have to say would be the company. We enjoyed a coffee and tea (gotta wait though cause its gotta be hot!),Lots of walking, a cool stop of street performing - which I gotta mention. Man alive that Italian guy and his Texas ballerina are amazing, talk about strength balance and coordination!! The things those two pulled off was crazy oh and there was a back flip to hand stand - a one handed handstand. No big deal right? After that there was some Mongoalie grill - mmmmmm delicious, and finished off at Hawrelak Park
- Not a cloud in the sky the entire time! Hard to beleive I know, but its true! And finally I was on my way home - with a pretty big smile on my face too, talk about a great company and a day!

Morale of the story - yes good people there is one.

Company
.
More specifically the company you keep
.
The ones that you have in your life that make life great
.
It doesn't matter what you do or where you go, but who you are with
.
Today proved that fact - yes indeed I did have a fantastic day, but it was more so the company then any one particular thing we did that made it such
.
But it gets me thinking, I am extremely happy with the people I have in my life, they are great
. So this is to all of you that are in my life - you guys rock!

And its all of you that make life so easy to Enjoi.

Bring it.

Challenge after Challenge.
Hit after hit.
I am still here.
I will always be here.
Nothings gonna hold me down.

So bring it on - hit me with your best or your worst it doesn't matter I can take it
.

Life has been a battle, always being challenged, being testing, but I will not falter
. I will not fail. I stay positive and look to the future . Up and onward as it were.

I will never let someone tell me that I can't
do it. Because I can. So fuck you. Pardon my language but that really just pisses me off. Expect so much from someone but yet tell them they can't and that they aren't ready - who are you to decide?! Ha little bit of a vent there. Really now it's a little ridiculous if you ask me, someone asks you to be a potential business partner you would think they would treat you as such and not a doormat. But hey that is just me.

Through it all though I still know there is nothing that I can not do if I truly put my mind to it
. The same should go for any of you out there. Never let someone break you down, you and you alone know what you are capable of. Don't ever forget that!

And of course always do what you gotta do to Enjoi.

What's this Enjoi you speak of

So it has come to my attention that some of you are curious or perhaps even confused by my enjoi. What is with that i, where did it come from? Does he know he is spelling enjoy wrong? and etc

Well to those of you who don't know it is actually quite simply and I shall enlighten you, it does indeed come from some where and it isn't yours truly a few bricks short of a full load.

It came back in the day of 2002 I do believe it was... Yes I know 2002 was a year and not a day. Don't worry about it and read on already.

I enjoyed skateboarding and thus read skateboarding magazine's. In one such magazine was an add - with a little Panda on it. Went something like this::

"Don't sleep on Enjoi."

Sounds Stupid right? How about:

"Hey Player, want your pillow fluffed?"

It caught my attention - made me laugh even and I shared it with a few friends. Now I am not to sure exactly when I started using the i in my enjoi's - But that is what spurred it. Like I said simple. But now you know.

So now I leave you with some of their adds

My Roads the high road

We all seem to have our highs and low - some higher and some lower then others. I myself have always tried to look on the positives in life and well in all honesty this last year I have struggled. But I am ok with admitting that.

I am at a point in my life now where I no longer need anyone to be happy. It is a fantastic feeling I kid you not. To know no matter what happens my happiness is purely my choice and my choice alone. And no one on this earth will ever take that away from me again. I have many amazing friends in my life who enrich my life and do in fact make me happy - but I know that I am happy all on my own regardless of anyone's influence.

So I leave you with this - Are you happy? Is your happiness someone would be able to take away from you? Little on the deep side I know. But if you can become happy all on your own much like I have you will see life in a whole new light. And you will be able to really begin to enjoi life. For everyone's sake I hope they are able to find it like I have.

So I bid the adieu and good night. I go to bed tonight happy with life and everything I have in my life.

Bright lights, and neon streets that are beyond
My road's the high road,
The one you should be on.

What's in a Moment

Well after a sweltering 31 degree day I had a fantastic moment that lasted for quite a while You may find yourself asking "What kind of moment is this that would last? Nothing last's anymore"

I will tell you!

Old roommate swung by for a bike ride - Headed to Velocity Cycle (awesome guys there!!!) for new pedals for the stinky! Clipless pedals none the less...

(Ok so Clipless Pedals - might find yourself asking well aren't those just regular pedals??? Nay nay my good friends. This is one of those weird things but once explained makes sense. However it still seems odd. Clipless pedals are actually the pedals you clip into with cleats on biking shoes.... Confused?? Thought so. The reason behind this conundrum is that before these fancy pedals came to - bikers used toe straps that clipped over your shoes - thus clip in pedals. So when the pedals came about that you just stepped onto and bam you were locked in and ready to rock! Without doing up any clips - Hense Clipless pedals) The more you know...

Now back to my story.

We stop off there, get my pedals on and head out! Smoking hot day, just beautiful out - almost to hot though. Head down through the river valley hitting up our usual fun but tricky trails. Matt nearly ended his life a few times. Went over a small cliff but caught a tree which probably saved him from a mean concussion at the very least. Later he filled me in he had a fall behind me and his face came a few inches away from a nasty stump coming outta the ground... Good times good times I tell ya! So we continue on our way - get to this awesome drop off me and Ken found on the weekend, we hit it up a few times get some nice air and then head out and go our separate ways. Long story I know - Bear with me it is coming riiight meow.

On my way back a thunder storm is rolling in ahead of me. As I am cruising through the trails ducking tree's and bushes as I go it starts to rain. Just lightly, enough to mist me as I go through the trails - Felt amazing! Then in the distance I could see the lightning and all I could hear was the sound of my tires humming along the path - the rain falling through the tree's and thunder off in the distance. Truly a moment. That lasted for my entire ride out of the Valley and home.

I love my bike. I love the outdoors its awesome.

I mean how can you not Enjoi.

Ch Check it out

It's a great song so I figured I would share it with you wonderful people.

Danny Mitchel - The Valley Of Doom

To the valley of doom
I was banished for life
To where no flowers bloom
And not a sliver of light
I kicked and I squirmed
Ya, I put up a fight
In the valley of doom tonight

It sounds so dramatic
But it's really quite light
A little spark from the static
And my imagination ignites
Call it reincarnation
Call it karmic-revenge
But you were my salvation in the end

Cuz I got so lost on life's crooked road
So say what you want
I am what I am
But for you I will be
Yes for you I will be
Just for you I will be a better man

I came by coach and horses
With a new battle plan
All those people I loved
I can no longer stand
Still I tried not to call you
But my heart was so small
So I've come back to gamble it all

Cuz I got so lost on life's tricky road
So say what you want
I am what I am
But for you I will be
Yes for you I will be
Just for you I will be a better man

So take me to Vegas
Cuz my heart's feeling wild
Where no one could save us
There's not a preacher for miles
Drag me out to the desert
Under a neon haze
We'll get so lost in life's sticky ways

So say what you want
I am what I am
But for you I will be
Yes for you I will be
Just for you I will be a better man
Just for you I will be
Yes for you I will be
Just for you I will be a better man

One Week

This past Monday I made the leap and decided to go for my business venture. So I leave my nice cushy supervisor's job for the opportunity to become an owner - of a landscape company. It has been a week, I have worked my ass off (well we all have) I am exhausted. But oh so very satisfied. I could not be happier with my choice of career paths. I decided a long time ago that one day I was going to be an owner of a company, and this my friends is the first step. A big step in the right direction. Only 6 or 7 months til I will be getting a business loan and becoming a partner. Until then I work - and work like no tomorrow because I know every bit I do puts our company further ahead. Ha "Our company" I like the sounds of that.

It's gonna be a busy summer. I can't wait.

One day

Working the day away in an amazing neighborhood - If you have never ventured to said such place I highly suggest you go for a cruise up 127 street out of the city around a few bends and over some tracks and your second right after said tracks. Then follow is down through a dip and whammy its on your right - can't miss it! There you will find an oasis of the rich. And this is why I love my job, Here I end up in the back yard of a giant of a house surround by even more. I may not be able to afford them. Not even close.
But one day I will.
Just you wait.

Stinky

Oh biking how I have missed it.

About three years ago my beloved mountain bike was jacked. Came home and was asked

"Ryan you move your bike or something?"

"I replied no why do you ask??"

Receive an Oh Shit look...

"My bike isn't on the balcony??"

I head to the balcony... table - Check, BBQ - Check, Bike - WTF!!!!!!

Note that I lived on the second floor at the time. Needless to say I was pissed. I loved that bike and rode that thing at least 10 hours a week. And it was gone. Just a few scratches on the railing as a reminder. So 3 years pass - unable to afford a new mountain bike. I may have expensive tastes.

Then praise the Jesus - A fellow Air Rider has his bike for sale - Dirt jumper 200 dollars. So I go check it out - Nice bike but not exactly what I was looking for. We chatted for a bit, he showed me his project Jetta. And then I saw it... A bad ass Kona Stinky. Thought it looked like an awesome bike. But at the time told him I would think about the Dirt jumper. So I head home.
Next day I message him.

"Gotta ask, that Stinky - it up for grabs? And what would you want for it??"

He replies that it is and gives me a price. I like said price. In no time at all I have driven out to the Park and managed to stuff this full downhill bike into the back of my Gti. A tight squeeze but she fit. I love my car.

Been a great start to Spring - been out biking a ton with friends and by myself and man alive I forgot how much fun it is! Not to mention I have now begun to jump - even more awesomeness there.

OH SHIT YES - I GOT YOU GOOD YOU FUCKER....

Ryan - 1
Mouse - 0

Told you I would get you.

Don't forget to always Enjoi.

The Comeback

Well its about that time - Been gone for a long time from the blog world.
Time for a comeback.

So life itself has been an interesting journey. I have come a long way in this past year. Have to admit as well that I have never been happier than I am with life right now. Made a lot of new friends, rekindled some old friendships and made others stronger. I have grown personally and learned a lot about myself. Learned how to deal with stress - something I had never really done before til my life fell apart about a year ago. But it was those friends new and old that I am grateful to have and thanks to
them (and my family but that goes without saying ha ha) I made it through stronger then ever and ready to take on the world....

Oh you little sob - random sidetrack we have a mouse in our house. The bugger just darted along the wall... I will catch you mouse just you wait...

Now where was I - Right life and taking on the world.

My future looks bright, my challenges will be plenty and great. But I know without a doubt in my mind that there is nothing I can't do.

Keep your head above the water
And don't forget to breathe
