What's in a Moment
Well after a sweltering 31 degree day I had a fantastic moment that lasted for quite a while You may find yourself asking "What kind of moment is this that would last? Nothing last's anymore"
I will tell you!
Old roommate swung by for a bike ride - Headed to Velocity Cycle (awesome guys there!!!) for new pedals for the stinky! Clipless pedals none the less...
(Ok so Clipless Pedals - might find yourself asking well aren't those just regular pedals??? Nay nay my good friends. This is one of those weird things but once explained makes sense. However it still seems odd. Clipless pedals are actually the pedals you clip into with cleats on biking shoes.... Confused?? Thought so. The reason behind this conundrum is that before these fancy pedals came to - bikers used toe straps that clipped over your shoes - thus clip in pedals. So when the pedals came about that you just stepped onto and bam you were locked in and ready to rock! Without doing up any clips - Hense Clipless pedals) The more you know...
Now back to my story.
We stop off there, get my pedals on and head out! Smoking hot day, just beautiful out - almost to hot though. Head down through the river valley hitting up our usual fun but tricky trails. Matt nearly ended his life a few times. Went over a small cliff but caught a tree which probably saved him from a mean concussion at the very least. Later he filled me in he had a fall behind me and his face came a few inches away from a nasty stump coming outta the ground... Good times good times I tell ya! So we continue on our way - get to this awesome drop off me and Ken found on the weekend, we hit it up a few times get some nice air and then head out and go our separate ways. Long story I know - Bear with me it is coming riiight meow.
On my way back a thunder storm is rolling in ahead of me. As I am cruising through the trails ducking tree's and bushes as I go it starts to rain. Just lightly, enough to mist me as I go through the trails - Felt amazing! Then in the distance I could see the lightning and all I could hear was the sound of my tires humming along the path - the rain falling through the tree's and thunder off in the distance. Truly a moment. That lasted for my entire ride out of the Valley and home.
I love my bike. I love the outdoors its awesome.
I mean how can you not Enjoi.
